The present study, entitled: Social and political nuances in A rosa do povo, inserted in the literature area has as its objective selecting and analyzing poems as Resíduo, Notícias e Cidade Prevista published in the book A rosa do povo (1945), by Carlos Drummond de Andrade. This study aims to identify the correlation between them and the environment in which they were produced, in a time marked by social political conflicts in the world and in our own country. Besides the theme, it will be verified how the stylistics resources used by the poet surround the social political context. The theoretical reference is based on Antonio Candido (2011) for the correlation established between literature and society, as well as his work in Vários Escritos (2011) about Drummond‘s poems unquietness and Villaça (2006) because of his studies on Drummond‘s works. As a result of the relationship between the environment where Drummond lived and the analysis of the selected poems, it was possible to describe the poet as someone involved in politics, although not directly related to any specific party or ideology. |
