Resumo: This research aims to analyse the narrative focus of the book The Hunger Games (2008), which is written from the perspective of the character Katniss Everdeen. Besides the book analysis, it will be examined how the narrative focus is showed in the film adaptation of the same name (2012), and how this transposition of the written for the filmic narrative is performed. To realize this study it is required to take notice of theories initially about intermediality, i.e., theories regarding relationship and interaction between two distinct media (Rajewsky, 2012); about the narrative focus or viewpoint by using the classification of Friedman (2002); and film studies related to the characterization of narrative focus in the first person. In this analysis it will be verified how the knowledge of this transposition of the narrator-protagonist from the book to the screen complements a profound understanding of both works, since Suzanne Collins, the author of the literary work, also assists in the screenplay production of the filmic adaptation.
