Resumo: This study focuses on correlations between rites of passage on the path of the character Daenerys Targaryen of A Game of Thrones (2012) from the saga A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin. Considering that mythical associations offer various valid possibilities for analyzing the narrative elements surrounding the character, this research makes use of the theories by Durkheim (2009), Eliade (1999, 2008), Gennep (2013) and Campbell (1990, 1997) to present a study of the mythological, sacred and ritualistic elements through which Daenerys Targaryen is developed, also considering her relationship with the power of mythic animals: the dragon and the horse.
