Resumo: The aim of this study is to present a form of analysis of the narrator in the short story "Malagueta, Perus e Bacanaço" (1963), by João Antônio Ferreira Filho (1937-1996). Journalist and also a writer of literature, he applied techniques that cover both of these practices in his narratives, besides exposing a language spoken in the streets, especially in the city of São Paulo, also innovating linguistic aspects present in his work, which also brought innovation to Brazilian literature. In addition to presenting a brief survey of the influences of the New Journalism or Literary Journalism presented in the work of João Antônio, Bakhtin's (2014) presuppositions will be used as a methodological tool in relation to novel’s hybrid discourse, applied here for the narrator's analysis of the short story.
