This project analyzes which are the Idealized Cognitive Models (ICM), from Conceptual Metaphors used for the construction of Conceptual Models FAMILY, WORK and PROFESSIONAL REALIZATION of a group of native speakers of Curitiba. Thus, the corpus consists of interviews with six native speakers. The linguistic phenomena investigated according to the detected metaphors are based on the reference work of Lakoff and Johnson (2002) and Lakoff (1987), formulators of this concept. Nevertheless, the objective of the work is the investigation of which culturally formulated models influence the construction of these cognitive models. In this aspect, the work used is Feltes (2007) as basis for the analysis of Cultural Models (CM). The group of respondents is divided into three age groups and therefore encompasses universes of diverse views about the categories. From the analysis, the results indicate that the social roles of the informants are crucial in the way they experience the metaphors. And in relation to cognitive models surveyed, the concept of FAMILY is seen as fundamental to this community since that influences many metaphorical constructions of other concepts. Nevertheless, it is observed that the entry into the labor market is also an important factor in the consideration of changing of the concept WORK, and as a consequence, in the PROFESSIONAL REALIZATION. |
