Initially had made the lifting of the theoritical reference in search of potential of history of mathematics in Mathematics teaching. Later, analyzed five colections of textbooks, extracting exercises, activities, quotes, contextualizations, curiosities and didactic sequences in witch there was no presence of any element on the history of mathematics. From the literature review was possible to define the categories of analysis identifyinf the approaches of the history of mathematics as teaching strategy, information, flash and activities. The results reval that the textbooks present historical material, although most have informational character and considered that the approach of the history of mathematics as didatic strategy has more potencial for the teaching of mathematics. The results also show the importance of the role mathematics teacher in the teaching process of mathematics with use of the history of mathematics. Esse trabalho tem por objetivo analisar os Livros Didáticos do Ensino Médio aprovados no PNLD de 2015 com relação à presença de História da Matemática como recurso pedagógico para o ensino de Matemática. Inicialmente fez-se o levantamento do referencial teórico em busca de potencialidades daHistória da Matemática no ensino de Matemática. Posteriormente, foram analisadas as coleções de livros didáticos, extraindo os exercícios, atividades, citações, contextualizações, curiosidades e sequências didáticas em que havia presença de algum elemento relativo à História da Matemática. A partir da revisão da literatura foi possível definir as categorias de análise identificando as abordagens de História da Matemática como Estratégia Didática, Informação, Flash e Atividades. Os resultados revelam que os livros didáticos apresentam material histórico, ainda que a maior parte tenha caráter informativo e considerou-se que a abordagem da História da Matemática como Estratégia Didática tenha mais potencial para o ensino de Matemática.
