The first photovoltaic devices created were the inorganic ones, based on silicon ones, but after the discovery of the conducting polymers, the creation of the organic solar cells. Organic solar cells have some advantages over inorganic cells such as: they are manufactured by a faster roll-to-roll process and are light and flexible. However, because of its structure, the device can be easily oxidized, mainly because of the metal working low function used as Cathode. To reverse this problem, one of the proposals is to use an inverted structure. In the inverted structure, zinc oxide is well studied for use as an electron carrier layer. In the present work, the zinc oxide was synthesized using the polyol route. Through the x-ray diffraction it was verified that the synthesized oxide shows the hexagonal unit cell in the form of wurtzite. The infrared, Raman, XPS, UV-Vis and PL spectroscopies show that the samples have adsorbed acetate and polyol, and in the sample synthesized with sodium hydroxide there is an oxygen vacancy. By microscopy, the morphology was analyzed and it was verified that with the change of the synthesis there was a change in the morphology from spheres to sticks and polyhedra. Photovoltaic devices constructed using the obtained material presented significant results in relation to the control device, mainly the sample synthesized with sodium hydroxide. |
