Resumo: Stress at the workplace consists in an unbalance of the system as a whole and it is directly associated to internal and external factors of the workplace as pressure, unpleasant job, tension, anxiety, fear and agony, among others, mainly when it is related to decision making. The aim of this research was to identify the perception of the workers stress at the workplace in a multinational industry located in the city of Ponta Grossa. The adopted methodology is classified as an applied research, descriptive, with a quantitative approach that took place in a multinational industry which is a manufacturer of consumer goods, food and agriculture. This analyzed industry was classified among the 50 biggest agribusin ess and exporting companies in Brazil, in 2012. The study population is represented by 40 workers. The workers that were included in the research were the ones that were developing their labor activities for more than six months at their department and familiarized with the team and the activity, irrespective of age group, gender and marital status. For the data analysis, the MSACCESS database management system was used. In this database, the Structured Query Language – SQL was applied for the selection of the registers for the descriptive statistical analysis of summary and data mining technique. After applying the syntactic analysis of the results, each register was classified with the SQL, using the Job Stress and Perceived Stress Scales taxonomy. The results indicate that young workers from the age group up to 25 years old consist of 35% of the sample as well as 57,5% is composed of male workers. The analysis reveals that 100% of the sample individuals perceived there is a stress level which is considered not harmful to the workers. It is possible to conclude that if self-consciousness is developed, the workplace is open to healthy interpersonal relationship and there is certain control of adverse factors, it is possible to learn how to manage stress at the workplace.
