Greenspace are defined as public garden that people can use for their welfare. The cities are planned in accordance with some aspects, for example, the rate of green area per inhabitant. According to the World Health Organization is recommended 12 to 15 square meters of green area per inhabitant. The lack of planning of green areas can affect the quality of life of urban population, affecting the level of happiness and welfare of citizens. According to the Municipal Department of Environment in Curitiba, there are 1.036 recreational areas in the city, 21 parks occupy an area of 18,854,905 meters square. They have great environmental, social and economic importance, but no one knows for sure the return that these areas have brought to the population. The Bacacheri Park was inaugurated on November 5, 1988, has an area of 152,000 square meters and is considered "Natural Park City" by the National System of Conservation Units. Your urban location space has great importance for the population of Curitiba. Moreover, the park shows a scenario of green areas, space for leisure, sports and the maintenance of stormwater, such as flood control and improved water quality. Analyzing these environmental services offered, the objective of this study is the evaluation of the direct and the indirect benefits of the park Bacacheri through Contingent Valuation Methodology (CVM). The research was developed in the park, using questionnaires applied to the users, who identified and characterized the users and assessed their willingness to pay for green area. 342 interviews were conducted in July 2010. The quantification of the questionnaires was determined using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), which allowed us to determine the monetary value of natural resources from the user's preferences through their willingness to pay for the benefits of the park. The document resulted in a value of R$ 95.49 per square meter, and the annual value of R$ 289,183.00. The present value based on a social discount rate of 2% was R$ 14.5 million. The document also demonstrated the benefits of the payment for environmental services using the financial resources to the management of infrastructure, management of public visitation, visitor safety, maintenance of biodiversity, performing a comparative case studies of valuations of Parks and Woods. |
