This study performs an analysis on quality control in digital images through tests made with image plates (IPs) in the digital radiology sector using TOR CDR phantom. This phantom allows the evaluation of several parameters of quality control such as: contrast, spatial resolution, gray scale, besides the performance and physical integrity of these plates. The images were acquired using a GE XR6000 X-ray apparatus, in the FUJI FCR Profect CS computerized radiology (CR) system and with FUJI IPs. After the acquisition of the images, they were sent for analysis on the Planar Radiological Monitor model GX 2 M using the filter change for: thorax, abdomen and skull in plates of sizes 24 x 30 cm and 35 x 43 cm. The results shows that the visualization of objects of high and low contrast is dependent on the anatomical region analyzed and the variation of sensitivity among the IPs and according the lifetime and wear. Just as the spatial resolution is greater when the fine focus is applied to the protocol. Considering the aspects analyzed, it is important to use filters even if the difference is discrete, since any improvement in the image contributes to safe and reliable result to the patient. The tests mainly emphasize the importance of monitoring the quality of IPs throughout their timelife, identifying the need for exchange due to loss of sensitivity, among others. It is also fundamental to raise the awareness of professionals to keep up to date on quality standards, the best use of software tools. |
