Resumo: In the panorama of need to optimize the use of energy resources in the country, stands out the efficient use of electricity. Even the white tariff mode have not coming into effect yet, stands out to the residential captive consumer the need to evaluate its own pattern of energy consumption. The proposal of this work is develop a tool to monitoring the power consumption of a residence. Therefore it was necessary the development a conception of data acquisition and cost optimization for the implementation. To maintain this view, current sensors are using in each circuit for data acquisition, and for the interpretation the Arduino is using, whose platform is free and easily accessible. The results were very promising indeed, the data provided by the implemented system propitiated the user assessing the feasibility of using the white tariff mode instead of conventional mode, as well as giving opportunities of reducing his own electricity consumption, which contributes to energy efficiency in the country.
