This paper presents a comparison between the results of three different methods to power active dispatch: The Economic Dispatch Method; The Linear Optimal Power Flow and The Nonlinear Optimal Power Flow Methods. Two algorithms developed previously were used to obtain the simulation results, as well as it was developed an algorithm to solve the Linear Optimal Power Flow using the Fmincon tool from Matlab software. A short explanation about optimization problems is presented and afterwards the formulation of the studied methods was demonstrated. Finally, this paper presents the results, comparisons and conclusions, which are showed in the final chapters. |
