This paper presents a theoretical and practical approach towards a comparison study of Procel Edifica’s certification program for existing homes. It presents the main concepts used for home constructive and energy analysis.It also demonstrates the main analogue characteristics of Procel Edifica’s certification program in two other world known energy certification programs: AQUA certification and LEED certification. It proposes a theoretical comparison between Procel Edifica’s certification and AQUA and LEED certifications. A study case is also led with the application of said three certifications in a home in Curitiba. The results found demonstrate the clear methodological differences between the three certification programs, confirmed by the results found on the study case. This paper punctually discusses the theoretical and practical divergences and convergences of the methodologies for the already mentioned certification programs, with a final positioning of Procel Edifica’s certification program on the current market parameters. |
