Resumo: The main objective of this work is to analyze the world scenario of Grid-connected Photovoltaic Power System and the reasons behind the small contribution from Brazil in photovoltaics. It presents a survey of several existing technologies of photovoltaic modules that are available in the market, presenting differences among the various technologies, which has a better market acceptance and market trends. We performed a brief existing photovoltaic system types as well as their advantages and disadvantages. This work also includes and emphasizes the differences and peculiarities of the exploitation of solar photovoltaic energy in uttering periods in many developed and developing countries, emphasizing the way it was utilized, the policy adopted by each country and the incentives or not adopted by them. Thus it was possible to analyze the Brazilian scenario, comparing the policies of the countries studied and what was and what is being done to spread this technology in Brazil. In the final stage of work there is a study of deployment of photovoltaic modules on the roof of the Federal Technological University of Paraná, showing the sizing of a photovoltaic system and also the financial analysis of investment.
