Resumo: The Green Office (GO) of Federal Technological University of Parana, Curitiba campus, is located on the premises of block V, Silva Jardim Avenue. The founder and coordinator of this project that was awarded by the UN in South Corea, in 2012 is the professor Eloy Casagrande Junior. The GO is a model of sustainability in the exploitation of resources for the construction and power generation. Nowadays, this and other issues that refer to sustainability have been discussed even more in universities, companies and the society in general. This is because we are already suffering the consequences of attitudes from the paradigm of environmental degradation, when nature was considered just a source of human resources for production, without considering the impacts on ecosystems. This paper presents a theoretical basis, initially talking about sustainable development and then explaining the generation of energy from solar radiation and from the wind. The theory also describes the LED lighting systems. The next step involved checks and measurements to study the power generation systems present in the GO, as well as the study of the lighting system based on LEDs. From these measurements, the data were organized in the form of charts and / or tables, and from calculations and simulations, it was possible to reach conclusions about the results. Firstly, on the Isolated Photovoltaic System, that in its arrangement of 12 V presents a very significant margin of safety to supply the power consumption of the motor pump, in according to its use. Secondly, on the Grid Connected Photovoltaic System it was concluded that the photovoltaic generation for the month of January 2013 was above the average consumption in the residential sector of Brazil, being feasible implementation. Thirdly, it was observed the efficiency of the illumination LEDs base, in terms of the ratio between the illuminance and power demanded, which was superior to fluorescent technology.
