Resumo: Motivated by a society that currently lives with more stringent environmental issues, every time explores more and cares about renewable resources, and reuse raw materials to get new products and forms of usable energies, act that is called cogeneration, we made this work with the intention of providing an alternative to reuse energy for an automotive industry. With the main purpose of enjoy the thermal energy already available at the paintshop of an automotive industry located at São José dos Pinhais, we made this study in order to verify whether it is possible to use the steam produced by the burning of toxic gases from the burning of the solvent used in paints apllied on cars, through a small thermoelectric power plant (STPP), to generate electric power. The process occurs through the burning of natural gas (primary fuel) and the steam produced and expelled into the atsmosphere, which is the mais purpose, take advantage of it. Nowadays, everything that involves reuse and cogeneration is well regarded by society, not only because involves environmental issues, but also brings economic benefits. Here will be present the measurements collected in the field, as well as the calculations required to establish is whether or not viable to install the turbogenerator and if so proven, will be presented the equipaments properly sized to cater the necessity for termal generation and also the investimento calculations and payback of the feasibility study of implementing the thermogenerator.
