The result of the acoustic scattering coe!cient measurement is mainly necessary for acoustics simulations in order to approximate the numerical simulations results to the empirical results. The present study evaluates the random incidence scattering coe!cient in a scale reverberation chamber of sample surfaces on plaster and wood. The measurement technique used is based on the international standard ISO 17497-1 (2004) and the construction and dimensioning of the measuring apparatus is part of the scope. The samples used in previous studies were replicated, analyzed and the results discussed in order to ratify the reliability of the experiment. After the measurements, the results demonstrated that the scale reverberation chamber constructed is qualified according to the ISO 17497-1 (2004). O coeficiente de espalhamento acústico é uma propriedade acústica vinculada à forma de uma superfície e mede quanto da energia sonora está sendo espalhada de maneira especular e não-especular. O resultado da medição do coeficiente de espalhamento acústico se faz necessário principalmente para softwares de simulação acústica de modo a aproximar os resultados das simulações numéricas aos resultados empíricos. O presente estudo avalia o coeficiente de espalhamento acústico devido à incidência aleatória em superfícies amostrais em gesso e madeira através da medição em câmara reverberante em escala reduzida. A técnica de medição utilizada é baseada na norma ISO 17497-1 (2004) sendo a construção e dimensionamento do aparato de medição parte do escopo desta pesquisa. Amostras utilizadas em estudos anteriores a este foram replicadas, analisadas e os resultados discutidos de forma a ratificar a confiabilidade do experimento.
