Now a days the theme “Project management” is on the hype and has been really discussed. In this context, aspects about agile methodologies and people management has been also talked about. In order to further go in this discussions, the following work presents a practical case of an application of a hybrid project methodology for the development of a physical product, I this case, a hydraulic car lift. As an initial decision, the project team had the goal of using the agile project methodology SCRUM (2014), but along the project execution, it has been modified, mainly by inserting traditional practices in it, in order to adequate to the project situation. These modifications were, for instance, the creation a price methodology, modifications in the team structure proposed by the SCRUM methodology, and so many other. These changes showed to be extremely effective and necessary to adapt to the reality of the project and the team. As can be noticed, as it is shown in the literature, there is no better methodology, but one practice that better fits to your need and to the project team. Even though, the usage of agile practices brought benefits to the project management and result, but also brought challenges to the management and the team. To sum up, the agile practices, for more benefits it brings, it does not make miracles or replace factors as experience and know how. |
