Resumo: Invented from a joke, in the 60’s, longboard skate became more than a sport coming to integrate a lifestyle. Nowadays, the activity has been spreading more and more, leaving the exclusivity of the bowls and becoming an alternative means of transport of low cost to travel shorter distances. The objective of this assessment is to develop the mechanism of an electric propulsion device that provides to the user be travelling medium and long distances in order to make skateboarding a sustainable and accessible means of transportation in large urban centers. The product will contain a rechargeable battery that will provide electrical power to the motor, which will transform that charge into mechanical energy, causing the longboard to move. We study similar products, which have already found marketing space in the market, in order to explore and understand the feasibility of developing the intended device. In this way, we also seek to understand the needs and preferences of the target audience to which the product is destined, via field survey of the online questionnaire type. Simulations were developed to specify device components. Finally, a patent was drafted with the design of the device in order to protect future interests.
