Resumo: Among the objectives of plant breeding is the development of cultivars which are less influenced by the environment. Through the testing of Cultivation and Use Value (VCU), beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) can be evaluated as to the superiority of their agronomic potential relative to existing cultivars on the market. This study aimed to evaluate the grain yield, verify the contribution of yield components in the final production and the genotype x environment interaction of beans tested in the network of South Brazilian Test for Cultivation and Use Value. The cultivation and use value trials were conducted at the experimental station of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) Campus Dois Vizinhos/PR in two growing seasons. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications. The treatments consisted of 16 genotypes, 12 bean lines and four cultivars. Data were submitted to analysis of variance and means were compared using the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability of error. The beans that showed the best growth performance were C10-2-4 / 41, CNFC 11954, LEC 03-14 and 12-601 LP, in the two growing seasons.
