Resumo: The Brazilian beef herd is the largest commercial herd in the world, making it the largest exporter of meat, but the productivity of the Brazilian cattle are low, influenced by the low calving rate, nutritional problems and slaughter of old cattle. Looking for highly productive animals with smaller production cycle, combined with high quality meat has been developed the Marchangus Composite in Brazil. The aim of this study was to evaluate carcasses of six young steers of the composite (¼ Aberdeen Angus + ¼ Marchigiana + ½ Zebuíno, MZ-50). The study was conducted at São Marcos ranch, Dois Vizinhos - Paraná. It was observed and analyzed the compositions, finish, carcass yield and the weight of the major cuts, beyond the data of ultrasound and carcass for measures of ribeye area and fat thickness. The animals were slaughtered at 21 months of age weighing between 460 kg and 563 kg, having in average 58.6% of carcass yield. The values of area ribeye (AOL) and fat thickness (EG) found in the carcass were approximate those found in ultrasonography, the average range was 12.96 cm² for AOL and 0,5 mm for EG. The carcasses presented good conformation and good color of meat, but little intramuscular fat (marbling). In section HH where we determine the approximate values of the physical composition of the carcass, it was found in Marchangus Z - 50 22.9% of bones, 14.2% of fat and 63.3% of muscle. The crossbred Marchangus Z – 50 can be a tool for improvement of production in Brazil, presenting precocity, with good carcass quality.
