Teaching support tools is used to manage courses and content by students and teachers, but in many cases the student low interest allied with lack of motivation is undermining the effective use of this systems. This challenge is usual in extra class environments where regular time of study is interfered by many digital entertainment present in student's life. A recent approach that aims to engage, motivate and generate commitment in users is the Gamification. This approach is the use of game elements and game mechanics to enrich non-games contexts, affecting mainly the student's motivation and engagement. This is a potential tool to be used in education. This work presents the preliminary development of the system GamersBook, a web based teaching support tool with gamification techniques to generate students interest and attention, making the regular class in a playful activity aiming to improve the student learning, behavior and classroom performance. The proposal and development of this environment is the main focus of this work. |
