The main objective of this research was to estimate the monetary value of the Bosque Marechal Cândido Rondon, located in the city of Londrina, Paraná State, under the aspect of costs involved in relation to two alternatives: releasing or not the traffic through it, towards an access path between the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro avenues. The research was designed under the method of marginal productivity, where the production function is determined by the fuel consumption compared to the distance traveled. A statistical inference was based on the vehicle counting, by means of video recording, during the period between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., from Monday to Friday. Using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, it was found that the sample population had a normal distribution, which allowed the use of parametric testing and also a mathematical equation obtained from the database regression. These resources were used to calculate the number of vehicles that, once accessing the São Paulo Avenue, continued along the Rio de Janeiro Avenue. Having got the distance, a monetary valuation was carried out over the two options: with and without vehicle traffic passing through the Bosque, as well as the fuel costs incurred by the vehicles to perform those itineraries. An annual amount of R$ 30.472,00 was reached. This is the cost of the service to be rendered by the Bosque for the reduction of the route between those two points. Debates acalorados acerca da utilização de um recurso ambiental têm se tornado constante, mas, via de regra, sem o cuidado de fazê-lo com base em dados cientificamente levantados. O objetivo central desta pesquisa foi estimar o valor monetário do Bosque Marechal Cândido Rondon, no município de Londrina, Estado do Paraná, sob o aspecto dos custos envolvidos em relação à liberação ou não do tráfego de veículos através dele para o acesso entre as Avenidas São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro. A pesquisa valeu-se do método de produtividade marginal, onde a função de produção é determinada pelo consumo de combustível em relação à distância percorrida. A pesquisa, de caráter probabilístico, partiu do levantamento da quantidade de veículos que realizam esse trajeto, utilizando recursos filmográficos, considerando os horários entre 07h30min e 19h30min, de segunda a sexta-feira. Aplicando-se o teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov, concluiu-se que a amostra aponta uma população de distribuição normal, o que permitiu a utilização de testes paramétricos e a construção de uma equação matemática mediante regressão que permitisse prever a quantidade de veículos que, entrando na Avenida São Paulo, realizassem o percurso até a Avenida Rio de Janeiro.
