Production planning and control tools are essential in all companies and with its tools, as the Theory of Constraints, the organization can reach the proper and desired delivery time. Developed by the Israeli physicist Eliyahu Goldratt. the mentioned tool has five focusing steps: Identify the system's constraints; exploit the system's constraints; Subordinate everything else to constraints; Elevate the system's constraint and by last go back to step one. The presented study was realized in a furniture industry with high index of deliveries delay and the objective is, assisted by the five steps tool, to identify and restrain the possible reasons. A group of items was analyzed, being this group compounded by three types of chairs, as they highly represent the industry’s production. Further on, the restrictions in the production process were identified and explored throw several analysis to detect the reason for that to become a restriction initially. The next step was to associate the non-bottleneck resources to the identified restriction. At last, all led to raise of the restriction building a sawtooth curve that helped the company’s managers in the acquisition of raw material. Returning to step one, it is expected to find new restrictions, this time, in new sectors. Diante de um mercado altamente competitivo, preço e qualidade estão muito equilibrados entre as empresas, logo para se destacar da concorrência, o prazo de entrega deve ser o menor possível. O Planejamento e Controle da Produção é essencial em todas as organizações e através de suas ferramentas, como a Teoria das Restrições, pode auxiliar as empresas a atingir níveis de prazos de entrega adequados. Esta ferramenta foi desenvolvida pelo físico israelense Eliyahu Goldratt que possui cinco etapas sendo: identificação da restrição, exploração da restrição, subordinar não-restrições à restrição, elevar a restrição e por último retomar ao primeiro passo. O presente estudo foi realizado em uma indústria moveleira, que possui altos índices de atrasos de entrega, com o intuito de identificar as restrições pertinentes no processo produtivo, assessorado frente as 5 etapas da ferramenta. Foi analisada uma família de produtos, composta por três tipos de cadeira, devido alto grau de significância das mesmas em relação à produção. Posteriormente foram identificadas as restrições no processo produtivo, e assim foram exploradas através de análises para detectar quais as causas que fazem a mesma se tornar uma restrição. Posteriormente, foi realizado a subordinação dos recursos não-gargalos à restrição encontrada. Por fim, conduziu-se a elevação da restrição construindo curvas dente de serra que auxiliaram os gestores da empresa na aquisição de matéria-prima.
