Resumo: The objective of this work was to understand the public perception of the MedianeiraPR region about the UTFPR, with the reduction of the students entrance in the UTFPR campus Medianeira, it was understood that it was necessary to explore and understand the what the public knows about the university, a structured interview was conducted in Medianeira, Matelândia, Missal, São Miguel do Iguaçu and Serranópolis, where questions were asked about the nature of the university, courses, projects, media, everything what the university involves and how it gets to the public. Percentages of answers to each question were presented, as well as suggestions from the population to the university. After analyzing the results, it is concluded that the interviewed population does not really know the university, not knowing how to answer some questions correctly, and not knowing what is done inside the university and informing which media are the most effective and what type. Of information these people receive and what they expect from the university. The institution needs attention to how its activities reach the public and how best to make this information reach as many people as possible.
