Resumo: In the last decades discussions about the environmental issues are increasingly common, especially with respect to environmental education (EE), which is seen as an alternative to changing habits and culture of the people in order to develop a more responsible society. Zoos are alternatives to the practice of environmental education, having as its main tool biological diversity, it uses non-formal environmental education, developing a very important role in the formation of the visiting students. This study aimed to evaluate the Guarani Woods Zoo located in Foz do Iguacu in imparting knowledge of Environmental education, facing the audience made up of students of the 4th year of elementary school, the region between 9 and 10 years. Given the large number of children who visit the Zoo Bosque Guarani weekly, carried out a review of the activities worked with them through questionnaires before and after the completion of the visit, in order to assess whether there was use of information passed on the day of the visit, as well as apply the practice of EE at the zoo and its methodology. After application of the proposed methodology was found that children assimilate the information passed during the visit, however, some of the educational practices can be improved so develop their full potential. Thus, the work took into account the assumptions of those authors, who claim that the EE goes beyond the zoo since its inception and learning are continuous, so educators Guarani Woods will play its role to contribute to the formation of more people conscious.
