Resumo: Nowadays, there has been an immense concern about environment degradation, and one of the summited problems is the degradation of urban flora. Knowing the present plants’ species in the cities and its characteristics it’s of an extreme noteworthiness to achieve environmental the identity of many species, and bring up the interest of environmental conservation. In this context the present work, has as purpose, collaborate whit the learning skills of the 3rd year class from Carlos Lacerda Municipal School in the city of Medianeira. Through the confection of exsiccates and an informational guidebook about the species that occupy the space around the school area. In order to accomplish the project, first it was covered in class the importance of the environmental conservation, most importantly about urban flora and the meaning of “herbarium” and “exsiccates”. Later on were made the exsiccates of seven arboreal species present in the schoolyard and discussed the information about each one of them in class. So as to complement the knowledge passes to the students, they were given a class about vegetal cells at UTFPR’s Biological Science Lab. The final stage was the confection of the guidebook: tree samples of Carlos Lacerda Municipal School, beyond containing information about herborized species it also brings orientation about how to confection an exsiccate. The project School Herbarium was a contribution to the environmental education of students increasing the interest and curiosity of them regarding the questions of environmental conservation, mostly the value of vegetal area and its surroundings.
