Resumo: This research presents information regarding greenwashing for professionals in design and advertising, proposing a discussion on communication in Brazilian market. Exposes concepts and applications of this new marketing practice and indicates a reflection on how sustainable communication is planned and executed, informing ways to identify the overstatement in this kind of strategy. As support for discussion of this subject-matter, the site Inverdade was developed, exploring graphics elements and environmentally friendly speeches in advertising, questioning his intentions and applications within the scope of the purpose of the message. Accordingly, approaches from the concept of sustainability, greenwashing, advertising and graphic design, to marketing covering the consumer decision process, and green marketing.
