Resumo: With the growing attention dedicated to the generation of innovations, and having the Universities as propellers of knowledge and development of innovations, the present work aimed to analyze the innovation potential of UTFPR-Pato Branco through officially published educational / research works in the systems ROCA (Repository of Other Open Collections) and RIUT (Institutional Repository of the Federal Technological University of Paraná) and the research and extension projects with funding, registered in Plataforma Stela Experta® in the years of 2011 to 2016, as well as describing the innovative cultural environment of Pato Branco Campus. Thus, the theoretical conceptions about innovation, types of innovation, culture and environment were presented, and also about elements like ‘’Triple Helix’’ (university-company-government), thereby, the research was characterized as a descriptive documental research and exploratory, the gathering of data occurred between the months of February and May of 2017. A amount of 1346 student’s academic papers were analyzed and 969 teacher’s research and extension projects, being identified that 21,5% of the total of the student’s papers had some innovative potential e 59 of the teacher’s projects, with innovative potential, were funded. The University has its structure focused in the generation of innovation, with specific directories, human and intellectual resources prepared to assist in this process, in addition to external agents that contribute to the promotion of innovation ranging from the Government, companies, fostering and financing agencies of innovative projects. The results presented show that the university has been building and consolidating partnerships to leverage the development of innovations.
