Thus, the theoretical conceptions about innovation, types of innovation, culture and environment were presented, and also about elements like ‘’Triple Helix’’ (university-company-government), thereby, the research was characterized as a descriptive documental research and exploratory, the gathering of data occurred between the months of February and May of 2017. A amount of 1346 student’s academic papers were analyzed and 969 teacher’s research and extension projects, being identified that 21,5% of the total of the student’s papers had some innovative potential e 59 of the teacher’s projects, with innovative potential, were funded. The University has its structure focused in the generation of innovation, with specific directories, human and intellectual resources prepared to assist in this process, in addition to external agents that contribute to the promotion of innovation ranging from the Government, companies, fostering and financing agencies of innovative projects. The results presented show that the university has been building and consolidating partnerships to leverage the development of innovations. Com a crescente atenção dedicada à geração de inovações, e tendo as Universidades como propulsoras de conhecimentos e desenvolvimento de inovações, o presente trabalho objetivou- se analisar o potencial de inovação da UTFPR-Pato Branco através de trabalhos de ensino/pesquisa oficialmente publicados nos sistemas ROCA (Repositório de Outras Coleções Abertas) e RIUT (Repositório Institucional da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná) e os projetos de pesquisa e extensão com financiamento, registrados na Plataforma Stela Experta® nos anos de 2011 a 2016, bem como caracterizar o ambiente cultural inovativo do Câmpus Pato Branco. Assim, foram apresentadas as concepções teóricas sobre inovação, tipos de inovação, cultura e ambiente, e também sobre elementos como a “Triple Helix” (universidade-empresa-governo), desta forma, a pesquisa se caracterizou como uma pesquisa documental descritiva e exploratória, a coleta dos dados ocorreu entre os meses de fevereiro a maio de 2017. Foram analisados 1346 trabalhos acadêmicos dos discentes e 969 projetos de pesquisa e extensão dos docentes, sendo identificado 21,5% do total de trabalhos dos discentes possuíam algum potencial inovativo e por parte dos docentes cerca de 59 projetos com algum potencial de inovação, eram financiados. A Universidade possui uma estrutura voltada para geração de inovação, com diretorias especificas e capital humano e intelectual preparado para auxiliar nesse processo, além de agentes externos que contribuem na promoção de inovação que vão desde o Governo, empresas e agências de fomento e financiamento de projetos inovativos.
