Resumo: The cultivation of small fruits has been presented as a good alternative production and economic returns, especially when talking about diversifying production on small farms and physalis is an important in this group. Coupled with good economic returns of production of physalis, the organic fertilization can be a good way to reduce costs in cultivation and reuse of waste which are often existing in the properties, which do not always have a appropriated destination. The aim of the study was to assess agronomic parameters and fruit quality of two species of physalis, Physalis peruviana L. and P. pubescens L., submitted to mineral and organic (poultry litter) application, and verify its development when cultured in environmental conditions in the southwestern of Paraná. Productivity, plant height, dry matter yield, diameter and fruit weight and content of total and reducing sugars, total soluble solids, proteins, phenols, flavonoids, vitamin C and pH of fruits were evaluated. The organic fertilization gave good results for both agronomic and biochemical parameters evaluated, ensuring good productivity and fruit quality. The two species had good growth conditions in the region where they were grown.
