Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of the lopping system in the production of figs for fresh consumption from the cultivars 'Roxo de Valinhos' and 'Negronne' in the city of Pato Branco - PR. Plants 07 years old, organized at spacings 1.5 meters between them and 2.5 meters between rows, were used. The utilized lineation was completely randomized, with treatments consisting of a 2 x 4 factorial, taking as factors cultivars ('Roxo de Valinhos' and 'Negronne') and the number of lopping (one, two or three, and a control without lopping). Plants were conducted with 12 productive branches and evaluated for production and caliber of its fruit. In addition, were measured phenological variables as start and end of harvest. The lopping system showed significance for number of fruits per plant, but not indicating increased productivity, not relations between the system and the other variables were observed, concluding then that its use is not recommended when the purpose of producing figs is the fresh fruit market.
