Resumo: This paper approaches the literature on Public Management with a focus on Transparency. Its objective is to analyze the development of scientific research on transparency in public management. The work was characterized as exploratory-descriptive with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research tool used was ProKnow-C (Knowledge Development Process-Constructivist), bibliometric analysis and content analysis. The bibliometric analysis showed within the bibliographic portfolio (formed by 24 articles), a production of articles that are current and relevant, with great polarization still in the publications, which are published by several authors and mostly of articles with works done jointly. The majority of the works are descriptive and practical, with a predominance of bibliographical and bibliographical / documentary studies, with data collection being largely documentary and the main approach being qualitative. Content analysis was done from tables where the main themes related to transparency could be verified, which was the central objective of the research, and the studies showed the relevance that education receives. In addition, polls put great emphasis on the fact that transparency can not simply be confused with public account advertising. It should be highlighted as an exposed limitation the non-utilization of information technology resources in many cases, which demonstrates that although there are advances transparency has still been treated as a minor issue by public management.
