Resumo: The present qualitative-interpretativist study (DENZIN; LINCOLN apud CUSTÓDIA, 2006) had as its main objective to describe the implementation of reading and literature classes in an alternative place, that is , a circular out and free air space, named Jardim Literário, as well as to interpret the classes ,of the workshop, as well as interviews with students of a second year of Ensino Médio and the librarian of the school. Specifically, the project wants to perceive what the result of studying reading and literature is in a natural interactionist environment is. The theoretical basis of the project found support in Permaculture’s precursors, mainly in Bill Molinson e David Holmgren (2013) who structured this etic concept and its ways to follow. Besides, we brought to the debate the principles ofsome theorists who proposes alterantive ways to see education such as Paulo Freire (1996), Carlos Rodrigues Brandão (2008) e Dewey (apud PINAZZA, 2007). Participants of the study were students of a second grade of a Teaching technical course integrated to Ensino Médio, the librarian and the teacher of workshops. The study tried to answer the following questions: What was participants’ perceptions in studying reading and literature in a natural environment? And, from which ways affective language contributes to construct sympathy for school in which these students passed by? Data collection of this piece of research is constituted by four audio and video recording classes and photographs of all four encounters. Also, semi-structured interviews were done with students and the librarian. After that, part of the interventions were published in social nets. The results pointed to the participants’perceptions about the importance of studying in a different environment, what permits them to learn in a natural and spontaneous perspective and assimilating new knowledge better. Besides, they pointed to the value of previous knowledge and social interaction among students by means of affective language. Last, but not least, we perceived by means of the project Literary Garden: reading and literature”- a form of defending public school in the democratization of its resources and in the evolution of its forms of conceiving learning.
