Observing this reality, this paper aims to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of the implementation of a photovoltaic system in a determined consumer unit at low voltage. Therefore, a mesurement of both on-grid and off-grid systems have been made, in order to observe the competences of each type of system and, given the current situation in Brazil, feasibility for the implementation of these systems. The work presents, initially, the theoretical reference of the photovoltaic technology and perspectives of its development. Then, the main differences between on-grid and off-grid systems are presented, these systems being the configurations used in the proposed project. In addition, the area chosen for the allocation of photovoltaic panels was determined considering technical and economic aspects related to the existing structure. Finally, the paper presents a simplified analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of the proposed systems. Diante da crescente demanda por novas fontes de energia elétrica, umas das alternativas com maior potencial é a energia solar fotovoltaica. Observando essa realidade, este trabalho ocupa-se em analisar a viabilidade técnica e econômica da implantação de um sistema fotovoltaico em uma determinada unidade consumidora em baixa tensão. Para tanto, realizou-se o dimensionamento tanto de sistemas on-grid e off-grid, a fim de se observar as competências de cada tipo de sistema e se há, diante da situação atual do Brasil, viabilidade para a implantação destes sistemas. O trabalho apresenta, inicialmente, o referencial teórico da tecnologia fotovoltaica e perspectivas de desenvolvimento. Em seguida são apresentadas as principais diferenças entre os sistemas on-grid e off-grid, sendo esses sistemas as configurações utilizadas no projeto proposto. Além disso, a área escolhida para a alocação dos painéis fotovoltaicos foi determinada considerando aspectos técnicos e econômicos relacionados à estrutura existente.
