Resumo: Assessment is a very important subject for education. It is indispensable that all teachers know the theories and conceptions of assessment so that their evaluation practice is grounded and produces results beyond the assignment of grades. Evaluating goes far beyond applying tests. The teacher must consider all the construction, the reasoning, the knowledge of the student in the classroom, performing a continuous reflection during the teaching process. That is, to evaluate is part of the teaching process. The development of this research aims to know and analyze the assessment conceptions of mathematics teachers of the Elementary School final years, taking as a starting point what is proposed in the documents that guide the teaching work about evaluation and what the researches on the subject advocate, therefore, from the "proposed" to the "revealed".
