Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the maturity level of the Quality Management System (QMS) of a cosmetics company, applying a theoretical model. For this, a literature review was conducted, and articles that were available at Journals Portal CAPES regarding quality management theme, process management and maturity models, were analyzed. After searching some existing maturity models in the literature, one model was chosen to be applied to the case study of a cosmetic company. After the choice, the model was applied by means of a questionnaire, which was answered by managers of the Quality Department. With the questionnaire answers, the analysis results were done. As a result, levels of maturity of the quality management system were established. Improvements have been suggested to increase the company’s maturity level, considering the quality tools. The main suggestions are: investing in training people;; quantifying internal and external failure costs through strategic indicators;; consolidate the Quality Assured program;; focus more on customer satisfaction and not in dissatisfaction and create a culture for knowledge management.
