The current market is directed to the customer and to remain competitive it is necessary to guarantee the best level of service possible, that is, to deliver the correct product in time and in the proposed quality. As a result, logistic and continuous improvement activities are incremented in the strategic decisions of the organizations, in order to always maintain the ideal balance between satisfying the customer and reducing costs. The study presented in this work occurred in a truck assembler in the doors handling between production lines, due to the technological gap existing in the same, in comparison to other assemblers. Therefore, the work was divided into three fronts: logistics, continuous improvement and automatic guided vehicle (AGV), which is a system that allows better performance and cost-effectiveness in the process of locomotion of parts. For the study of logistics, it was identified and analyzed the doors handling layout and the time used in the process. Already for the study of continuous improvement, focused on the improvement to be applied in the layout. Each AGV has its properties, advantages and disadvantages and for each case it is used what is better suited to the studied situation. This type of system enables the improvement of a fully manual process, automating it. The present work deals with the analysis of the properties and feasibility of the installation of this type of system in a line of doors of a truck assembler, verifying its characteristics and understanding its operation. It was divided into three parts, which are the mapping of the initial situation and verification of the applicability of the available technologies and the applicability of the project. After identifying and analyzing the process, it was obtained a return on investment of 24 years and 7 months and in this way, can conclude that there is currently no need to implement the technology, since the company has a low daily production and, therefore, the use of human labor is currently sufficient for the process. |
