Resumo: Starting from the idea of developing a system to assist the deaf people in city traffic, this research proposes a device capable of identifying audible warnings such ashorns and sirens, and vibrate alerting the user. Covering a discussion of development and legal framework related to deaf people, the text delves into the technical level by an approach towards acoustics, vibrations and electronics. Through the acquisition of experimental data and fast Fourier transform, an acoustic characterization of automotive horns is conducted. Similarly the natural frequencies of main cycling handlebars available commercially are fetched. From the data found a flow chart is proposed for the electronic design, as well, relevant changes to improve the project.
