The worrying about a product’s quality has its roots in the XIII century and it has gradually risen until actual tools came up to guarantee that products and processes happened with total quality assurance. The usage of quality tools in the industry makes possible that product quality rises, costs decrease, processes get optimized and, therefore, results get better. The main goal of this project is to demonstrate how useful and effective using this tools can be in order to solve industrial issues. This concepts were applied in a Sugar factory and also at a Brewery. The quality tools applied to solve the problems were the PDCA cycle, the cause-and-effect Diagram and also the Pareto’s Diagram. The methodology was based in collecting data to identify the problems, apply an action plan for each case and verify the results. After all, the processes were standardized, with the goal to avoid that those problems show up again. |
