By initially characterizing what space could be and how it relates to elements of architecture and the city, the article presents a new notion for the east, that of place. Thus, when analyzing some architectural works in relation to the objects of art that are in it, it tries to establish the relation of these elements with the notion of place. Finally brings works in the city of Curitiba to reflect on the possible function that architecture could have in relation to art. O presente artigo científico, através de um processo de revisão literatura, investigou relações entre arquitetura e arte a fim de colher evidências favoráveis a hipótese inicial de que a arquitetura se caracteriza um suporte para arte. Ao caracterizar inicialmente o que seria o espaço e como este se relaciona com elementos da arquitetura e da cidade, o artigo apresenta uma noção nova para o este, a de lugar. Assim ao analisar algumas obras arquitetônicas com relação aos objetos de arte que nela se encontram, tenta estabelecer a relação destes elementos com a noção de lugar.
