In large companies where the production line demand many electromechanical equipment of high power, the power consumption is high, so any form of waste can increase it dramatically. This waste is harmful to the company's cash, because it could be applied to capital improvements and own benefits. Also, the waste of energy causes damage to the planet, as more and more there is a shortage of natural resources and the environment needs to be preserved both for our well being and for future generations. This work is concerning the automation of industrial utilities from logical programmable controllers. Utilities company X are sorted by: lighting, exhaust, cooling system, compressed air and welding gas. From the PLC, such will be controlled automatically by predetermined times, that is, by turns, so that only remain active when production industry; otherwise these utilities remain on for indefinite periods of time wasting a lot of energy. So the work is aimed at energy efficiency. To this end, we carried out surveys on the cost-benefit ratio of PLCs models available in the market, we selected the one that best adapt to the needs and costs for the development of the project during the period of one year and the implementation was held to making comparison between before and after in order to verify the reduction in power consumption of the company. The results achieved in one month after the implementation of the system show that more efficient use of utilities, reduces excessive consumption of energy by the company. |
