Resumo: This paper presents the implementation of an automated system for flat steel coils transport control. Here is described the handling characteristics of the system and manual operations performed by operators. It also features methods of programming and hardware architecture and software involved in the production line. Today these operations are performed by means of manual controls, which does not contribute to the line productivity. The study is a fundamentally applied scientific research in the field and presents through the implementation of the automatic system a solution that meets the needs of the process whose purpose of the project is to increase system reliability and optimizing operating activities. The inputs, outputs and auxiliary variables for the commissioning of the automatic system logic are defined. Finally we present the conclusions with the development of the automatic transport system, their reflections in the process of production and suggestion for future projects.
