Resumo: Exposure to light can have both positive and negative impacts on human health. Many people have spent more and more time exposed to compact fluorescent lights and LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights, meaning they are increasingly exposed to visible shortwave light (blue light). Knowledge about the relationship between enlightenment and human performance is already known, higher levels of illumination in the eyes can increase cognitive performance, alertness and well-being. However, the knowledge of the relationship between enlightenment and the socalled human circadian system (24-hour daily rhythms) is still incipient, especially in relation to the suppression of the production of the hormone melatonin. This study, using a research and review on the subject and a questionnaire, answered by volunteers, aims to identify the use of electronic equipment by ordinary people and those who work with health or safety at work, as well as their knowledge about the subject matter. At the end of this study, it can be conclude that 89% of people surveyed use electronic media inadequately and are not aware of the influence of blue light on their daily lives.
