One of the roles of an Engineer at Work Safety, within a company, is to recognize, evaluate and provide improvements in stress situations of employees, including stress caused by traffic in the home-work route, since it directly influences the mental and physical health of employees and hence will impact the quality of work. The literature review conducted nationwide, was classified in order to demonstrate the cities where stress in traffic was investigated as well as the professions and the particular method used. The objective of this work consisted of an investigation of the stress factors and level of transit users in Curitiba / PR, during the journey home to work. Therefore, we designed a questionnaire with five blocks of questions related to the factors and stress level, which was distributed online and got participation of 196 respondents. The answers consisted, at first, the characterization of the profile of the sample, being mostly male, between 26 and 60, and post-graduate courses. Also obtained the characteristics of the route home-work, and most realize that car ride, in the morning, with a distance between 5 and 10 km in a time of 15 to 30 minutes. Regarding the traffic stress factors, the human factor is what provides greater frequency of stressed people. And specifically for each factor, the items pressure for time, congestion, lack of respect from other drivers and poor vehicle handling, showed the highest percentage of responses that people get very stressed. Regarding the level of stress, he showed up high on a scale of 0-10, with 73.97% of people with stress level above five points. The degree of stress was compared with groups, with no difference in the average of the genre, and otherwise considering the distance and time traveled. Preventive measures were proposed at the end of the work, considering actions that can be taken individually by the company or else by public agencies. |
