Resumo: Work in confined spaces have great potential for risk because the conditions of implementation which the workers are exposed to both the Ministry of labor and employment normalized the work in confined space in 2006 through the Regulatory Standard 33, this refers to standard ABNT NBR 14787, in order to preserve workers in activities in confined environments of any kind, it is obvious that accidents in confined spaces have high degree of severity, in many cases fatal, by both information on the subject is of great value to job security. Accidents at work in confined spaces occur in various forms, and from worker's ergonomic conditions, biological risks such as bacteria, fungi, poisonous animals, going through physical risk conditions such as exposure to radiation of the work performed, also risks for contamination of chemical agents inside the environment, this being the main cause of fatal accidents at work in confined spaces, gas contamination in confined spaces is a potential risk to workers and must reduce it to acceptable levels normalized. This work aims to present ways of diluting contaminated atmosphere through forced ventilation, developed practical activity, with the aid of mechanical exhaust fan, promoting the dilution or total removal of the element contaminant, the theoretical shape applied is the air renewal rate in certain areas, through calculation and comparison of international reference table, the results obtained comply with the work, as compared to practice and theory involved meet the safety conditions in confined spaces.
