Among these, in this work will be addressed the road accidents by means of a specific look at whether the scholarity of the truck drivers have been influencing the number of the accidents occurred during the transport of hazard loads in the state of Paraná. The study aims to identify the influence of the scholarity level of the truck drivers in statistic of road accidents involving hazardous loads. Interviews were conducted with professional drivers operating in road transport of fuels. All of the interviewed have been specifically trained as determined by CONTRAN Resolution No. 91 of 1999. Based on the collected data, we found that the lower the scholarity level of the truck drivers, the greater is the number of accidents while performing their work. It was also verified that most part of the drivers are practically illiterate, which reduces their cognitive capacity during the required training and, as a consequence, increases the likelihood of professional involved in road accidents. It is concluded that the lower the education level of the truck driver is most likely he was involved in accidents while performing the task. As atividades do ramo de transporte rodoviário de cargas por si só são motivadoras de estudos aprofundados face à diversidade de riscos gerados. Entre esses será aqui abordado o risco de acidentes de trânsito. Especificamente será abordado o impacto do grau de escolaridade do profissional motorista de caminhão sobre o número de acidentes ocorridos durante o transporte de cargas perigosas no estado do Paraná. Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar a influência do nível de instrução dos condutores de veículos de cargas perigosas no índice de acidentabilidade no transporte rodoviário de produtos perigosos. Foram realizadas entrevistas com condutores profissionais que atuam no transporte rodoviário de combustíveis. Todos os condutores entrevistados possuem treinamento específico conforme determinação da Resolução n°91 de 1999 do CONTRAN. Com base nos dados obtidos foi possível verificar que quanto menor o nível de escolaridade do condutor maior é o número de acidentes em que o profissional se envolveu durante o desempenho de suas atividades. Outro fator que se observou foi que muitos entrevistados são praticamente analfabetos, o que diminui a capacidade cognitiva do indivíduo durante os treinamentos de capacitação necessários para o desempenho da atividade, o que aumenta a probabilidade do profissional se envolver em acidentes no trabalho.
