Resumo: This study presents a quantitative appliedscientific research aproaching technicaleconomical assessment of a solar rooftop distributed microgeneration plant, at Curitiba-PR, by a residential consumer standpoint. By the design solution, taking into account a 300 kWh month consumption profile, there were made requests for quotation to turn key enterprises for achieving price range and determine mean price. At that point, there were made calculations to spot payback time of the solution according to two different consumption profiles. There is expected payback timeshould be influencedtaking into account:consumer electricity self-consumption profile, interest tax ,electricity tariff and ICMS tax applied over the amount of energy injected by the photovoltaic panel on utility network. Payback time taking into account the time value of money over the profile consumption of 25,48% of self-consumption and 74,52% of energy injection into grid was bigger than 50 years while over the profile of 85,76% of self-consumption and 14,24% of energy injection into grid was 18 years and 5 months.
