Every company needs to coexist with a legal requirement to provide warranty on their products and services. The warranty is a commitment that any failure occurred due to some deviation in the production process or logistics have to be repaired, the service or product replaced or the amount paid refunded, since followed according to the manufacturer's guidelines. However, dealing with warranty services has an intrinsic relationship with human failure. A relevant factor to validate the warranty is that the failure has to occurs within a specified period, determined by the maker, which is fundamental for an important strategic. Using reliability engineering tools, this work demonstrates a method used to define the warranty period for maintenance services in chemical industries, including investigation of possible causes that generate reworks and risk analysis, which identified the highest concentration of human error right after conclusion of the work, and the follow up on involved risks are critical to the financial health of the company. |
