Resumo: This study seeks to evidence the knowledge revealed by students who study Differential and Integral Calculus 1 (CDI 1), through the analysis of the written production in questions of the tests solved by the students during the discipline. The aim is to categorize this knowledge from the strata of mathematical knowledge (numerical, algebraic, functional). To that end, 33 questions were selected that were part of six tests applied as apprenticeship evaluation of the CDI 1 discipline, of 14 students from the 1st period of an Engineering course, who failed in the discipline, but had performed at least 3 of the 5 tests Proposals. As a cut, elements observed from the written production analysis of one of these students are discussed in detail. It was sought during the analysis to demonstrate aspects of mathematical knowledge that could be inferred if the student already "dominated" elements related to certain strata (numerical, algebraic and / or functional).
